BOSTON (AP) _ Brookline Bancorp Inc. (BRKL) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $20.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Boston-based company said it had net income of 26 cents.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $83.6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $68.2 million.

Brookline shares have climbed 19 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $18.65, a rise of 25 percent in the last 12 months.
