Brazil probes fixing of World Cup building deals
Brazilian authorities said Monday a construction firm had admitted that a "cartel" of firms had fixed bidding for contracts to build stadiums for the 2014 football World Cup.
Construction firm Andrade Gutierrez is cooperating with investigators and has provided "evidence that at least five public calls for tender linked to work on World Cup stadiums were subject to a cartel," the Administrative Economic Defense Council, a state antitrust authority, said in a statement.
