The term “bad hair day” has different meanings for so many people. For some, it’s untamed, frizzy hair, while for others it’s dry, damaged tresses.

Regardless of how you describe it, one of the easiest and most accessible ways to ensure your hair stays fresh and damage-free is to use silk products. Grace Eleyae, Inc. is a Black woman-owned brand that creates some of the best options designed specifically to address common hair concerns.

According to the site, Grace Eleyae, Inc. “was founded on the belief that you should never choose between hair care and style.” Designed with hair care in mind, the brand seeks to take the stress out of your morning routine by offering protective hair accessories that are both fashionable and functional.

Though the line kicked off to meet a demand, it actually came to life in 2014 after its founder lost all the hair on the back of her head during a bumpy eight-hour car ride in Kenya. The severe breakage was “the result of her chemically straightened hair and constant friction against the headrest.” Later that year, in an effort to treat the damage, Eleyae created the first prototype for the brand called The Slap, a satin-lined cap that’s perfect for travel and sleeping.

After seeing immediate changes in her hair while using The Slap, she passed the product along to friends and family members who also saw stunning results. Confident that she had a worthwhile brand on her hands, Eleyae began selling her products on Etsy and by September 2014, she officially launched Grace Eleyae, Inc.

The brand went on to become a top pick among the YouTuber and influencer communities with one naming the cap a “must-have” in her nighttime routine.

Today, over 400,000 satisfied customers wake up without bed head and broken strands thanks to the brand’s extensive assortment of silk and silk-lined hair accessories.

If you don’t own a silk pillowcase, you need to get one ASAP! Silk is less absorbent than cotton, so it keeps your expensive moisturizing skin and hair care products on your body and not on your pillowcase. This also prevents product transfer which can cause acne and hair breakage.
