Black Friday deals are still on. Big ticket items from your favorite stores are already on sale for far below their usual prices at Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, and more. However, like just about everything this year, the COVID-19 pandemic is going to change the Black Friday experience in 2020. So if you have your heart set on finding some major deals this fall, here's everything you need to know about Black Friday 2020.

When is Black Friday?

Thanksgiving falls on November 26th this year, and since Black Friday always lands on the day after Thanksgiving, that means Black Friday will officially be held on November 27th, 2020. However, not all of your regular shopping haunts are going to be opening their doors on Black Friday in 2020 — and that's why several major retailers have started weeks ago, and sales are happening as we speak.

Is Black Friday canceled because of the coronavirus?

No, but the shopping experience is way different now than ever before. If you still plan on shopping in-store this year, you're going to want to call ahead and confirm that they're going to be open on the big day. As a general rule, you can assume most stores will have COVID-19 safety protocols in place and limits on how many people will be allowed in the building at once, so endless lines and door-buster stampedes are going to be a thing of the past. Usually, most brick-and-mortar stores and online shopping sites start their Black Friday deals at midnight on Thanksgiving night, and some have even opened their doors as early as 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving. However, several major chains stated that they will be fully closed on Thanksgiving this year, and some plan to re-open the following day.
