Best Woolworths, Coles 50%-off deals this week
Each week Coles and Woolworths sell a batch of products at half the usual price.
The retailers don't make much money out of these heavily discounted items, but they're used to lure shoppers into their stores.
Once they're there, Woolworths and Coles are betting that the trolley will be filled up with other full-price groceries.
The big supermarkets also use the 50%-off deals to differentiate themselves from emerging threat Aldi. The budget challenger has its own weekly specials but the discounts in percentage terms are never as good as half-price.
For your convenience, Yahoo Finance has picked out the most alluring 50%-off items from both stores on the same page here. This will help you plan ahead which supermarket to go to this week.
The products listed below go on sale for half-price from the morning of Wednesday December 18. Woolworths will maintain the prices to Christmas Day inclusive, while Coles will go until Christmas Eve inclusive.
