The best Aldi specials this week

Aldi is fast catching up to Coles and Woolworths in market share, driven by a price-friendly public image.

The German supermarket's "Special Buys" – one-off twice-weekly discount items – are now the stuff of legend, with customers queuing before the doors open to buy up the deliberately limited stock.

While Special Buys are often household goods, clothing and appliances, Aldi Australia discounts groceries on a weekly basis, labelling them "Super Savers".

Super Savers discounts aren't quite as low as the weekly 50%-off specials at Woolworths and Coles, in terms of percentage off the usual price. But Aldi's groceries are often discounted from a lower original price.

As usual, Yahoo Finance has dashed through the aisles to find the best Super Savers and Special Buys on sale this week:

Aldi Special Buys (one-offs): Saturday September 7
