Australian stocks open slightly stronger


The Australian share market has opened slightly higher, in cautious trade as investors wait for more news on the fallout from the US-led strikes on Syria.

At 1015 AEST on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 9.8 points, or 0.17 per cent, at 5,838.9, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 7.6 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 5,932.3 points.

In futures trading, the SPI200 futures contract was up two points, or 0.03 per cent, at 5,818 points.
