Australian stocks close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, hurt by downbeat results from Brambles and Worley Parsons, while Wesfarmers went ex-dividend.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 10.7 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 5,795.1 points at 1615 AEDT, and the broader All Ordinaries was down 10.5 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 5,840.5 points.

The March SPI 200 futures contract was down nine points, or 0.16 per cent, to 5,746 points, with 26,109 contracts traded.
