Australian shepherd helps mom make a holiday ‘pupcake’ in adorable TikTok: ‘I am going to cry this is so cute’

One pet owner likes to go the extra mile to make her dogs the tastiest treats.

Maui is a red merle Australian shepherd and Nala is a Goldendoodle. Their owner documents life with the two dogs on TikTok and all of the yummy concoctions she makes them. Whether it’s doggy donuts or gingerbread dog cookies, Maui and Nala always have a treat to get them into the holiday spirit. The pet owner shared her recipe for a “winter pupcake” in one viral video.

“Making my dog a winter pupcake,” the pet owner said, adding the caveat that it’s “edible for humans but doesn’t taste good.”

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree

  • 1/2 cup applesauce

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

  • Two eggs

  • Honey

Steps:

First, she combined the dry ingredients, including the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Then, in a separate bowl, she added the wet ingredients, including the pumpkin puree, apple sauce, peanut butter, eggs and honey.

Next, she mixed the wet and dry ingredients and placed them in a greased pan. The pet owner baked the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 30 minutes.

Finally, she frosted the “pupcake” with cream cheese (or peanut butter).

The recipe was so good, Maui couldn’t resist taking a few licks of the ingredients as she prepared them. When the TikToker finished the cake, the canine devoured it.

The video racked up over 4.9 million views.

“Why is this dog literally the child that eats all the ingredients out of the bowl?” someone joked.

“Now that’s teamwork,” another said.

“I am going to cry this is so cute,” another commented.
