Australia's most trusted brands

Disinfectant brand Dettol has been named the brand Australians trust the most as part of a new survey.

The annual Readers Digest Trusted Brands survey has revealed the top 10 brands which are seen as the most reliable by Australians.

Eighty-one per cent of those surveyed by the magazine said the 60-year-old germ killer was the brand they trusted the most.

Toothpaste brand Colgate came in second while iconic vacuum cleaner-maker Dyson followed at no.3.

"Many purchases are made with the heart, and it's the brands which continue to offer quality and substance that hold our trust," Australian Reader's Digest Editor-in-Chief, Sue Carney was quoted as saying.  

"They have a long history of being steadfast and safe, which makes them a hot property in modern day Australia".
