Yahoo Finance Australia may have already picked The Block winners
The five Block houses in Melbourne’s St Kilda are yet to be officially unveiled, but it seems Australia has all-but-confirmed a winner.
Block contestants Mitch and Mark have been front-runners throughout the season, and it’s clear from the house listings on Domain that Australia thinks so too.
House 1 by the boys at 38A Grey Street in The Oslo has been viewed a whopping 190,000 times - beating out runners-up Tess and Luke’s, who’s property has been viewed just 135,000 times, by a landslide.
The team even has the most-viewed listing on Facebook, with Tess and Luke again coming in second. Elise and Matt’s residence had the least amount of viewings, with just 103,000 views.
However, the views may change after last night, when it was revealed big bills have left Mitch and Mark between $2,000 and $10,000 in the red.
Agent Graeme Wilson of Wilson Port Phillip told Domain the pair had emerged as a crowd favourite, and could fetch between $3 million and $3.3 million at auction.
How much previous Block homes sold for
If the boys’ house does reach $3.3 million, it would eclipse 2017 winner’s Elyse and Josh, who’s house sold for a record $3.067 million.
That season, Jason and Sarah’s property also hit just above $3 million, despite some rooms still failing to be completed on time.
Last year, after meltdowns and threats to quit, Sara and Hayden’s house hit $3.02 million, leaving the pair with a huge $625,000 in prize money.
