Aust shares open slightly higher


The Australian market has opened slightly higher after a strong finish on Wall Street in its last session after the US Senate passed a budget blueprint which clears one hurdle for President Donald Trump's tax plan.

At 1015 AEDT on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 13.3 points, or 0.23 per cent, at 5,920.3, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 15 points, or 0.25 per cent, at 5,983.6 points.

In futures trading, the SPI200 futures contract was up nine points, or 0.15 per cent, at 5,899 points.
