Aust shares open

The Australian share market has opened stronger after a rebound in technology stocks pushed Wall Street higher.

Retail stocks have also posted gains after David Jones received a $2.15 billion takeover offer from South Africa's Woolworths.

At 1015 AEST on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 32.4 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 5,443, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 32.1 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 5,441.3.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was 38 points higher at 5,442, with 2789 contracts traded.
