Aust shares lose ground

The Australian share market has pulled back from earlier gains to close lower with weakness particularly coming from healthcare and retail companies.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 5.5 points, or 0.1 per cent, at 5,755.2 points at 1615 AEDT, and the broader All Ordinaries was down two points, or 0.03 per cent, at 5,810.9 points.

The March SPI 200 futures contract was down 10 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 5,703 points, with 25,819 contracts traded.
