Investors stunned by Aussie market recovery

  

The Australian share market has closed higher, with investors taking a breather and a bit of bargain hunting after two days of heavy losses.

At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 45.4 points, or 0.95 per cent, higher at 4,821.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 44.3 points, or 0.92 per cent, at 4,870.8.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was 57 points higher at 4,767, with 31,621 contracts traded.
