Good morning.

Here’s Yahoo Finance’s Tuesday morning wrap.

The ASX is expected to slide at the opening of trade, after miners powered the local bourse 1.47 per cent higher on Monday.

It comes as Wall Street eases from record levels, after nerves over the outcome of run-off elections in the US state of Georgia outweighed optimism over a vaccine-driven recovery in the global economy.

In early trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.60 per cent to 30,424.03, the S&P 500 lost 0.42 per cent to 3,740.25 and the Nasdaq Composite 0.27 per cent to 12,854.10.

Glitch: The messaging app used by schools and workplaces around the global, Slack, suffered a global outage on many peoples’ first day back at work.

The outage began around 2am AEDT on Tuesday, and disrupted service in the US, Germany, India, the UK, Japan and elsewhere.
