Good morning,

Here’s Yahoo Finance’s morning wrap for Thursday.

ASX: The Australian share market is expected to rise at the open on Thursday after Wall Street climbed higher on positive stimulus news.

The ASX has had a rough week, finishing lower on Wednesday amid falling iron ore prices.

The S&P/ASX200 benchmark index closed lower by 57.1 points, or 0.84 per cent, to 6714.1 on Wednesday.

The All Ordinaries closed lower by 53.2 points, or 0.76 per cent, at 6947.2.

Wall Street: The Dow Jones has hit a record high after US Congress gave the green light to a historic stimulus package on Wednesday local time.

Unofficially, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.45 per cent to end at 32,295.71 points, while the S&P 500 gained 0.60 per cent to 3,898.73.

The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.04 per cent to 13,068.83.

Tourism package: The Government has unveiled its huge tourism rescue package. At the heart of it: 800,000 half-price flights. Here’s what you need to know.

Scam warning: The financial complaints authority has been slammed with more than 11,000 complaints over the last year. This was fewer than it had expected, but it’s warning about a growing trend: scammers.

Crypto crime: Detectives have arrested six people allegedly involved in a cryptocurrency money laundering gang across Sydney.

Historic stimulus: US President Joe Biden has secured a major win with the passage of a US$1.9 trillion (AU$2.5 trillion) stimulus bill. The bill provides US$1,400 direct payments to most Americans.

Women’s warning: Prominent Australian women including former Sydney lord mayor Lucy Turnbull and Fortescue Metals Group chief Elizabeth Gaines have added their names to an open letter to the prime minister, calling on him to address gender equality in the next budget.

"We know that while inequality persists, true development and economic growth can never flourish," the letter reads.

Have a great day.
