Good morning.

Here’s Yahoo Finance’s Thursday morning wrap.

JobKeeper passes: Federal Parliament has passed the historic $130 billion JobKeeper package that is set to benefit 6 million people. More than 730,000 businesses have applied for the payments.

ASX to rise: Local share markets are expected to lift at the open following a strong session on Wall Street overnight. President Donald Trump and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s hopes that America may soon be past the worst of the crisis lifted trade on Wall Street, as health insurers also rallied on the news Bernie Sanders would suspend his campaign for the presidency.

Sanders drops out: US Senator Bernie Sanders has pulled out of the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nominations, leaving the path clear for Joe Biden.

The former vice president is a “very decent man whom I will work with to move our progressive ideas forward", Sanders said, while Biden also said Sanders had changed the dialogue in America.

Jobseeker successes: Around 1,300 people in Victoria have found employment through the state government’s stimulus package, with workers taking up roles in quarantine programs, government call centres and at FoodBank.

And while around 2,500 should be employed through the program by the end of next week, more than 50,000 people have registered for it.

Video chat: Zoom’s privacy and security issues have been well-documented, but there are plenty more options available for video chats. Here are four with stronger security protocols, and they’re all free.

Easter treat: And Woolworths will donate thousands of Easter bunnies and eggs to healthcare workers over the break, in a bid to support them through the coronavirus crisis.

Have a great day.
