Aspen Insurance: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. (AHL) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter loss of $14.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of 38 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 80 cents per share.

The insurance and reinsurance company posted revenue of $519.5 million in the period.

Aspen Insurance shares have declined almost 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 17 percent in the last 12 months.
