Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results

Patrick Vieira makes what he admits will be an emotional return to his former club Arsenal tonight.

Vieira spent nine years at Arsenal as a player, winning three Premier League titles under Arsene Wenger and captaining the Invincibles team in 2003-04.

Since taking over at Crystal Palace over the summer, Vieira has made a good start to his rebuilding job at Selhurst Park and optimism is high heading to Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal, who have not won the title since Vieira left in 2005, have steadied the ship following their dire start to the season and are unbeaten in four Premier League games.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace team news

Mikel Arteta has the luxury of a near fully-fit squad to pick from.

Granit Xhaka is the only major absentee as he is still recovering from a knee injury picked up last month. Gabriel Martinelli is also a doubt after picking up an unspecified injury last week, but he was unlikely to start anyway.

Arteta could well name the same side who drew 0-0 with Brighton before the international break.

Vieira has a selection dilemma in attack. Michael Olise’s impressive turn off the bench against Leicester last time out could see the youngster thrown into the starting XI for the first time.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace prediction

Arteta’s reign is finally gaining momentum but Palace have been awkward opponents at Emirates Stadium in recent years and could look to go toe-to-toe with Arsenal.

Arsenal 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Head to head (h2h) history and results
