Antonio Conte thanked Tottenham fans for singing his name during Sunday’s 3-0 win over Norwich and said he feels "a responsibility" to earn their support.

Spurs made it four League games unbeaten under Conte and maintained the pressure on the top four with another encouraging display against the Canaries.

Goals from Lucas Moura, Davinson Sanchez and Heung-min Son clinched Spurs’ biggest League win of the season and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sang ‘Antonio, Antonio’ as the hosts saw out a three straight victory.

"I want to say thanks to all the fans that sung my name," Conte said afterwards. "On one hand, I’m very happy, very enthusiastic for this.

"On the other hand, I feel a lot of responsibility towards our fans. I think they trust a lot in my work and to listen to my name was good, because I only arrived one month [ago].

"For sure I have this responsibility to deserve this and maybe it is too early [for such praise]. I want to show in the future that I deserve this. I think the good result helps you, but I want to deserve if the fans decide to sing my name for my work, for my involvement in this club, in this situation."

Lucas opened the scoring with a brilliant 20-yard strike after flicking the ball around Billy Gilmour and playing a one-two with Son.

It was the Brazilian’s first League goal since February and Conte says he expects to Lucas to score more over the rest of the season.

"He scored an amazing goal but he has the quality to score more goals and he has to score more goals in the rest of the season," the Italian said.

"We need this type of situation. He’s very good, I think in front we have great quality with important strikers. Lucas has great quality and surely my expectation is to see much more goals like this, but good performance with and without the ball."

Ben Davies was involved in both Spurs’ second-half goals, flicking on Son’s corner before Sanchez sliced home, and setting up in the South Korean following a neat one-two with the excellent Oliver Skipp.

Davies was also involved in Spurs’ opening goal against Brentford on Thursday and Conte believes the flourishing Welshman is perfectly suited to playing on the left of his back three, comparing him to Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta.

"Ben is playing very well and I think that that role specifically, I can get out the best of him," Conte said.

"And it was the same with Azpilicueta [at Chelsea]. The three central defenders, it’s important to be good defensively. But at the same time, for me, it’s important to play football, have personality and play the ball. Also when you find a team thats defending very low, it’s very important in this system.

“I need players with personality to play the ball and also to be offensive. Ben is one of these players, he shows great solidity and plays well defensively. I’m happy for him. We are talking about a really good person, a good guy. He’s always really focussed and concentrated. He played well."
