Angry shoppers threaten to boycott Aldi after latest revelation

Furious shoppers have taken to social media to voice their complaints about Aldi’s stand on caged eggs.

Customers have bombarded the supermarket giant’s facebook page, demanding that caged eggs be withdrawn from sale.

The move comes after a video, published by Animals Australia, shows Aldi customer’s response to hearing that Aldi Australia supports battery eggs.

A petition by change.org details how Aldi in the US and Europe has already committed to stopping the sale of cage eggs from their stores while Aldi Australia is still continuing with its policy to source battery eggs.

As a result, hundreds of shoppers have voiced their distain on social media, with most threatening to boycott shopping the supermarket chain until their policy changes.

Meanwhile some customers have gone one step further in their petition about cage eggs by hijacking Aldi’s posts advertising special buys.

Unsurprisingly, Aldi Australia's advert for its chocolate and blueberry mousse recipe recieved a barrage of negative feedback.

Likewise, customers brought up questions around the topic when the retailer wished its 'fans' a Happy Easter.

And it's not just the egg-related posts which are being hijacked, angry shoppers are also expressing their unhappniess on Aldi's posts about their pan and bedding ranges.
