NAB customers furious over missing Centrelink payments, bank transfers

Furious customers are bombarding NAB’s Facebook page claiming they have not received their Centrelink payments and bank transfers.

The delays mean many customers haven't received or been able to transfer funds with many claiming they haven't Centrelink allowances.

The bank said on Twitter it was "experiencing issues with some payments processing".

"Our teams are working to fix it asap. We're sorry for any inconvenience," the bank tweeted.

A Department of Human Services spokeswoman said all Centrelink payments had been sent to the Reserve Bank "as usual" but the department was aware a number of people who back with NAB had not received their payments on Tuesday morning.

"If you have not received an expected payment from us this morning, we encourage you to get in touch with your bank and ask them to investigate," she said.

Facebook users vented their frustration over missing money as NAB's page was battered by complaints.

“NAB! What is going on? People need this sorted out ASAP!” one user posted

“Some people aren't waiting for Centrelink payments so don't try and shift the blame to them. Some people are waiting on transferred funds that have been waiting to clear for 13 hours.”

“I've never been one to whine and complain online but this is just an all-time low. Not releasing people's money with no explanations hours after the fact is just so bad,” another user posted.

It’s not the first time NAB customers have been left aggravated by delays.

In October 2016, NAB had a two-day service outage, which affected the bank’s call centres, mobile banking services and delayed transactions, including customers’ pay.

Centrelink and NAB have been contacted for comment.
