Aldi’s $6.99 One Road Shiraz has won gold at the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge, and three other Aldi wines have picked up gold at Sydney’s 40th International Wine Competition 2020.

The One Road Goulburn & King Valley Cabernet Merlot 2018 took out Gold at the Sydney Wine Competition, with judges describing the drop as “bright” and “fuller bodied”, pairing it with wagyu, potato gratin and fennel salad.

Also making the list is Aldi’s A.C Byrne & Co. Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2018 - which took out Blue Gold.

The $9.99 Cabernet Sauvignon was described as “lovely” and “rich” by judges, who paired it with duck breast, parsnip puree and radicchio.

The German giant’s Veuve Monsigny Brut Champagne also took out a spot in the top 100’s sparkling wines category.

Priced at $21.99, the wine was deemed “rich, full, layered” and “attractive”.

And Aldi shoppers love their wines as well: Aldi’s $4.99 South Pinot Estate Rosé won the People’s Picks awards in the alcohol category just this week.

All wines are available at Aldi stores serving liquor - so what are you waiting for?
