'Just wow!': Aldi shoppers furious after woman hoards item

An Aldi customer has taken to social media to slam a woman who was hoarding items at her local store – and fellow social-media users didn’t hold back on their thoughts.

"WOW just WOW!” the user wrote in a popular Facebook group.

“So I was just in Aldi and I wanted to purchase one power board (cube). Just one..."

She sarcastically added, "Well this lovely lady was standing over them like she was guarding against anyone who might try and take one.

"All the time with her hand on them and smiling and gloating to her friend on the phone about how she was going to get them all. There was about 5 or 6, so when I asked if I could grab one, I was met with a shake of the head and told NO."

The woman continued, "I was dumbfounded at her selfishness and walked away shaking my head. Anyway I hope you see this post and recognise yourself and that you're proud of yourself."

She added that she was sure she'd find the power board elsewhere and that it was "no big deal".

It didn't take long for people to join the conversation and comment on the post, saying the poster should have just taken the power board.

"Should have just taken it, I would have," one user commented, with another adding, "What right does she have, people really annoy me."

Someone else said, "You should’ve just taken them without asking, she doesn’t own them. She wasn’t even holding them. I would’ve just reached around her and said excuse me and then grabbed one."

Others agreed with one user saying, "Honestly if they weren’t in her trolley I would have reached across and grabbed one."

"Until it's in someone's trolley, then it's anyone's,” another wrote.

“She can f**k right off with her greediness."

Someone else added, "Omg that’s ridiculous. I definitely would have just reached over and grabbed one without asking. Don’t let this ruin your day!"

"I would’ve pushed her out of the way, grabbed all of them and walked out," another said.

One user revealed that something similar had happened to her when she was buying a massage gun recently.

Others tried to help by telling the poster where she could find a power board elsewhere.

"Kmart sell them too," one user wrote, while another said, "I got a cube from Harvey Norman last year and was actually cheaper."

IKEA and Costco were also suggested as places where you can buy a power cube.

One person responding works at Aldi and informed the poster that next time it happens she should tell a staff member, "Next time if anything like this happens please reach out to a staff member. I’m an Aldi staff member and this is 100% not okay and we will not tolerate it. Sorry you had to deal with that!"
