Last year, a $6.99 Aldi wine was named the best in Australia.

But now, the international supermarket giant has done it again, with a $42.99 scotch winning international gold.

That’s right - for $42.99, Aldi’s Glen Marnoch Single Malt Sherry Cask Scotch Whiskey won gold at this year’s International Wine and Spirit Competition.

The scotch, which according to Pedestrian is only available in selected New South Wales Aldi stores, but will eventually be available online, has notes of red apples, bourbon, gristy and vanilla.

But if you’re not around Sydney, a few other Aldi scotches took home a win.

You can opt for the silver award-winning Aldi’s Highland Early 8Y.O Blended Scotch, which retails for just $34.99.

Its Bluegrass Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey won bronze, as did its Tamova Vodka.
