Al Roker’s Emotional Instagram About Natalie Morales Will Make 'Today' Show Fans Weep

Al Roker is feeling grateful for his time with Natalie Morales on the Today show.

After 22 years with NBC, Natalie bid her final farewell to the network's morning show program on November 19. The 49-year-old broadcast journalist is still set to appear on Dateline throughout the rest of 2021. She recently joined CBS's daytime program The Talk as a permanent cohost.

"From the minute I stepped in front of the camera and into your living rooms, I knew it was an honor to be part of your morning tradition, the most sacred time,” she wrote in a letter, which was read on Friday's episode of Today. “With you, I’ve had a front seat to moments that captured our hearts, moments I will forever cherish as I witnessed history."

She closed out the letter writing, "Dear viewers, you and my Today family have given me a place I will forever call home. Thank you for all those mornings and the lifetime of memories we now share. With all my love and gratitude, Natalie."

Naturally, saying goodbye to Natalie was tough for the Today show cast — especially for Al, who has been with NBC for over four decades and throughout all of Natalie's tenure with the network. On Instagram, the beloved morning-show weather anchor posted a photo of himself with Natalie and fellow Today costars Sheinelle Jones, Craig Melvin and NBC news correspondent Maria Shriver.

"One of the great joys of my time at @nbcnews and @todayshow was working with me of the best, @nataliemoralestv And the good times we had on the #3rdhourtoday were #priceless," Al wrote alongside the sweet photo. In response, Natalie commented on the post, "Love you @alroker and thank you always for being a great friend, mentor, and supporter to me! Thank you also for your sweet words."

Naturally, this post prompted Al's followers to get emotional. "@nataliemoralestv is one of my favorites ever. They should have kept her. ," one of Al's fans said. "She will be very very missed," another noted. "Love Natalie! She’s amazing, no matter where she goes and what she does! Wishing her continued blessings!" a different fan declared.

Of course, Al wasn't the only Today star to post a heartfelt message in honor of Natalie. Savannah Guthrie also shared a few sweet snaps on Instagram and wrote that Natalie was her "ride or die, the Shirley to my Laverne, my karaoke soul mate and the girl I want to snag red carpet dresses with forever!"

While it's sad that Natalie will no longer be on Today, fans can watch her daily on The Talk alongside cohosts Amanda Kloots, Jerry O'Connell, Sheryl Underwood and Akbar Gbajabiamila.
