How to achieve perfect fluffy brows

On this episode of In The Know: Beauty School, celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta shares his step-by-step process for achieving a feathery, fluffy brow. In addition to sharing his technique, Ta also reveals the best products and brands for eyebrow sculpting.

The first step in achieving fluffy brows is wetting your shaping wax. Ta uses Patrick Ta Major Brow Shaping Wax, and adds a bit of setting spray to temporarily soften the wax. “What you want to do is activate the product by spraying a little bit of a setting spray into the shaping wax,” Ta explains. “This is going to allow you to really help mold the brow hair in place.”

Next, Ta spreads shaping wax onto the model’s eyebrows, making sure to coat every hair. Once the shaping gel starts to become sticky, Ta uses Patrick Ta Major Brow Lamination Gel to hold the model’s eyebrow hairs in place. “What you want to do is, again, coat the product onto the hair,” he explains. “You really want to just mold the brow hair in place. Just keep gliding the wand into your hair.”

Once the brow gel sets, Ta simply combs the model’s brow hair upwards, to create a fluffy look. Then, he uses the Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil to begin filling in gaps in the model’s eyebrows. “I’m going to just color in more towards the end, just to fill in any areas,” he explains.

Finally, for extra detail, Ta uses the Glossier Brow Flick brow pen to create a fuller look, and adds a bit of Patrick Ta Major Glow Dewy Milk Mist for extra luminosity. “If you ever have any places that don’t have any hair whatsoever, you can just draw little lines, and this is going to mimic the look of actual brow hair,” he explains.

Once you’ve filled in any gaps in your eyebrows, the look is complete! Your eyebrows should appear full, feathery, and perfectly fluffy. As Ta notes, “With all these products you can create a really beautiful, feathered, pushed-up brow.”
