Absurd $24 million price for 3-bedroom Sydney apartment

This three-bedroom apartment overlooking Sydney’s Bondi Beach has sold for a whopping $24 million - setting a new record.

The sale means the price per square metre is a massive $126,316, breaking the previous record of $118,012 per square metre, also set by a Sydney apartment.

The stunning Bondi Beach penthouse also comes with four garage spaces with level street parking - a much-needed addition in the busy tourist area.

The listing described the property as a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to live in “Bondi’s best penthouse” and also came with pre-approval to add ensuites to all three bedrooms, plus a guest powder room.

“Penthouse living in an iconic location overlooking Sydney’s most famous Beach,” the listing said.

“Top floor penthouse ultimate privacy opening out to a 24m approx. Northerly [sic] ocean frontage.”

It is only a stroll to the world-famous Bondi Beach, Icebergs, restaurants, shops and Hunter Sculpture Park directly behind. The apartment is also set in a building that has a concierge service for all residents.

With sweeping views of Bondi Beach and the famous Icebergs, the property is sure to impress guests who can settle in on the large balcony.

The property was last purchased in 2006 for $9 million - meaning the previous owner made a staggering $15 million from the sale.

Another apartment in the same Notts Avenue triplex - a two-bedroom garden apartment - sold for $10 million in 2021. That apartment was purchased for just $3.93 million in 2015.
