Aaron Rodgers a late scratch for preseason game vs. Ravens due to 'back tightness'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was expected to play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, but was a late scratch due to “back tightness.”

The team characterized the decision as a “precautionary” move when it announced the news prior to game time.

Rodgers-LaFleur debut will have to wait

According to the team’s website, Rodgers was expected to play around a quarter along with the rest of the offensive starters except for running back Aaron Jones, who’s dealing with hamstring tightness.

The game would have marked the debut of the Rodgers-led offense under rookie head coach Matt LaFleur.

Instead, Packers fans will have to wait at least another week and hope that Rodgers’ back issue isn’t a concern that lingers.
