These are the 6 best-performing super funds based on 7-year returns

The Productivity Commission’s recommendation to create a shortlist of 10 ‘best-in-show’ super funds and wind down under-performing funds has triggered controversy in the superannuation sector.

At the same time, millions of Aussies have never been so willing to consider alternative financial institutions, thanks to the shady industry practices uncovered by the banking Royal Commission.

The enquiry has woken up a lot of Aussies to the fact that they could be missing out on hundreds of thousands of dollars by retirement if they stick with a high-fee or an under-performing super fund.

Financial comparison site Canstar has put together a list of the top-performing super funds in their database. These are the high achievers based on performance across seven years:
