3D Systems secures major dental contract, unveils tech innovations

Investing.com - 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) rallied 18.5% in Tuesday's after-hours trade, after the company announced an ambitious roadmap to expand its dental technologies portfolio, aiming to lead in a market projected to be worth over $14 billion by 2032.

The company also disclosed its largest contract to date, estimated to be worth nearly $250 million over five years. This contract will support the indirect manufacturing process for clear aligners.

3D Systems is planning commercial launches of direct printing technology for clear aligners by late 2025. It's also expanding into night guards, used for preventing teeth grinding and treating sleep disorders. Additionally, the company is seeking regulatory approval for its unique multi-material, single-piece dentures.

CEO Dr. Jeffrey Graves stated, “We believe the dental industry is now poised for a broad-based acceleration in the adoption of additive manufacturing technology that will impact all major dental applications, from tooth alignment and protection, to repair and replacement. With our decades-long leadership in the development of unique dental materials and printing technology, 3D Systems is ideally positioned to bring this full range of new, high-volume, custom applications to market over the next few years, and we are committed to do so.”
