What is this 3D model trend on Twitter?

People are claiming 3D models of celebrities are “scientific” discoveries.

The hilarious meme took over Twitter last October. Places like the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History use 3D renderings to recreate ancient species and artifacts. Scientists have even used the technology to recreate early humans like the 10,000-year-old British man known as “Cheddar Man.”

Now, people are parodying these scientific renderings using the faces of celebrities to describe historical figures.

Here are some of our favorites:

“Scientists at Stanford University have reconstructed this 3D model of how Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ might have looked,” @brotaminz wrote on Twitter with a 3D model of Lady Gaga.

John the Baptist may have been identical to Luigi from Super Mario Bros., according to @celebrityhottub.

Scientists at Stanford University also created a 3D model of how “Joseph, the husband of Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ might have looked,” @ColossusNick joked of The Princess Bride star André “the Giant” Roussimoff.

The user @AtomicSnarkasm claimed that god resembled the Teletubby Tinky Winky.

TikTok user @fitrich76 poked fun at one tweet that seemingly claimed Adam in the Bible looked eerily like Vin Diesel.

“Scientists at the University of Palo Alto have reconstructed this 3D model of how Narcissus, famous for falling in love with his own reflection and staring at it for the remainder of his life, might have looked,” alessandro_nai said, sharing four 3D models of Elon Musk.
