$200 vouchers: Payments on offer for Aussie parents

Aussie families can get vouchers of up to $200 to cover their kids’ sporting costs.

State and territory governments are giving away cash vouchers to help Aussie families cover their kids’ sporting costs.

In Victoria, for instance, eligible children can get up to $200 to pay for membership, registration or participation fees at eligible sporting or active clubs.

“The costs can add up. And that's why we've got Get Active vouchers,” Premier Dan Andrews said.

“Vouchers cover up to $200 for equipment, uniforms and more to make sure that more kids are staying active and getting a go.”

Other states and territories run similar sporting voucher schemes. Here’s a look at what’s on offer.

NSW

Active Kids vouchers give you two $100 vouchers to put towards sport and active recreation costs each year. It is available for kids aged 4.5 to 18 years. The current voucher was released on January 1, 2023 and is valid until June 30, 2023.

Vic

Get Active vouchers give up to $200 to cover membership, registration and participation fees. It is available for kids 0 to 18 years. The current voucher was released on February 21, and families can apply for a voucher or reimbursement until May 10, 2023.

Qld

FairPlay vouchers are up to $150 and can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees. It is available for kids between the ages of 5 and 17. The current round opened on January 25, 2023 and closed on March 29, 2023. Parents have until May 17 to present their vouchers.

WA

KidsSport vouchers provide up to $150 to cover kids joining any approved KidSport club. It applies for children aged 5 to 18 years. Vouchers have a 90-day expiry.

SA

Sports Vouchers provide a discount of up to $100 on sport, dance or learn-to-swim fees for children in Reception to Year 9.

Tas

Ticket To Play vouchers are worth up to $100 and can be used towards the cost of membership or registration fees for sporting or recreation organisations. It is available for children aged between 5 and 18. The current round opened on July 7, 2022 and runs until May 31, 2023. Parents have until June 7, 2023 to present their vouchers.

NT

Sport Vouchers give children two $100 sport vouchers each year for sport, recreation and cultural activities. It is available for children enrolled in school. Applications open in July and January and close May 24.
