Yahoo Finance 1.7m-wide home hits market for $1.8 million
The former hat shop in London has hit the market for £995,000 (AU$1.83 million), but is it really worth the price tag?
The shop-turned-flat is five stories high, and is in the coveted suburb of Shepherd’s Bush, west London.
But here’s the kicker: at its thinnest, the house is only 1.7 metres wide. That’s shorter than the average Aussie male (179 centimetres), and just five centimeters taller than the average Aussie female.
Real estate agent Simon Waller told The Sun that the property is the smallest house in London.
The home was previously owned by Simon Woods, Pride and Prejudice actor, who bought the home for £488,500 in 2006. It was last sold to a lawyer in 2009 for £595,000.
Each level of the home boasts a different width, with the thinnest being 1.7 metres. The lower ground floor boasts the widest spaces in the building at three metres wide, while the reception room on the ground floor is around two metres wide.
Across the entire five stories, the house is around 96-square metres. That’s around the size of the average Sydney apartment.
