The RBA reckons an improvement in labour market conditions is essential in sorting out underlying inflation, and the April jobs report to be released Thursday is an important sign. 2. Trump declares national emergency.The US president has signed an executive order detailing “threats against information and communications technology and services” in the US, subsequently setting up for a controversial ban on China's Huawei in the 5G network.

7. Does Victoria hold the secret to wage increases? Australian wage growth remains weak, but research from Westpac explains why this southern state managed to see the fastest growth due primarily to a decline in the number of Victorians deemed to be "underutilised" in the workforce.

8. US 2020 election candidate Joe Biden agrees President Donald Trump is an 'illegitimate president'. The former vice president concurred with a voter who made the statement about Trump during a campaign event in New Hampshire. Biden remains a frontrunner among the 22 Democrats already vying for the party’s nomination.

9. Sneak peek. HBO has released just two photos ahead of the Game Of Thrones season finale. The 80-minute episode was written and directed by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
