Hargreaves Lansdown, the FTSE 100 personal investment platform, is expected to extend talks with a consortium of private investors who have proposed buying the company in a deal worth about £5bn. Sky News has learnt that the London-listed company is in detailed talks with the consortium, led by CVC Capital Partners, about a revised offer that would incorporate a final dividend potentially worth more than 40p-a-share. SYDNEY (Reuters) -Australia's central bank debated whether to raise interest rates at a policy meeting on Tuesday given there were upside risks to inflation, but decided to stay the course in a sign the hurdles to a hike remained high. Wrapping up its June policy meeting, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) kept rates at a 12-year high of 4.35% for a fifth straight meeting, but emphasised the need to be vigilant on inflation. "While recent data have been mixed, they have reinforced the need to remain vigilant to upside risks to inflation," the RBA Board said in a statement.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Shell has agreed to buy Singaporean liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Pavilion Energy from global investment company Temasek in a move the oil major said will strengthen its leadership position in LNG, according to statements on Tuesday. The announcement confirmed a Reuters' report last Thursday saying Singapore's Temasek was finalising the Pavilion Energy sale to Shell in the coming days in a deal worth hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars. Shell and Temasek did not disclose financial details of the sale in their statements.
