Addison Rae's dad accused of 'emotionally abusing' Instagram model girlfriend: 'I needed to step away'

Monty Lopez, the father of TikTok star Addison Rae, is being accused of being “emotionally abusive” to a former girlfriend in a heated Instagram Story.

Lopez, 47, made a name for himself after getting embroiled in a cheating scandal with his now ex-wife, Sherri Easterling, in the summer of 2022. At the time, Lopez’s famous daughter unfollowed him on social media and Easterling unlisted herself as “wife” from her Instagram bio.

Lopez told Page Six in November that he had allegedly filed for divorce from Easterling before allegations surfaced that he was cheating on her. He claimed that the couple had been separated for over two years and had been living separately for a year and a half.

Easterling herself stirred up controversy — and got herself unfollowed by her daughter — when she showed up at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards as the date to the 26-year-old rapper, Yung Gravy. In response, Lopez posted a TikTok challenging Yung Gravy to a boxing match.

Throughout all of this, Lopez was dating 25-year-old Instagram model Ashley Renee, who initially ended things when she allegedly found out that Lopez was still technically married. She told Page Six that Lopez misled her and told her they “were going to be together and have babies together.”

In November, it was speculated that Renee and Lopez got back together and Lopez essentially confirmed the rumors by posting multiple photos of the couple throughout the end of 2022.

But now, four months later, Renee is coming forward again on her Instagram Stories to confirm she ended things with her “previous partner” — who many people assume to be Lopez.

Renee’s Story has since expired, but the gossip Instagram account @teatoktalk managed to post a screenshot of her alleged message.

“For a while, I have been in an unhealthy, emotionally abusive relationship, which has inhibited the growth of my personal development,” Renee allegedly wrote. “I needed to step away to move forward in my life and am taking the necessary steps to ensure that I am in a healthy and positive place.”

Renee also is no longer following Lopez on Instagram.

“Furthermore, my former partner’s internal issues have led to difficulties with me and the people around him,” Renee added. “It is in his best interest to repair the damage done with his family and work on himself.”

Days before her Instagram Stories, Renee pinned a post to her Instagram that talked about freeing herself from “negative energy that has hindered my growth.”

As of March 14, Lopez has not responded to Renee’s accusations. Rae continues not to follow her father on Instagram but has since re-followed Easterling.
