Adelaide Brighton Limited (ABC) is a producer and supplier of cement, lime, drymix, concrete and Pavement technology. ABC is focused on upstream building and construction products and is primarily involved in the production, supply and marketing of clinker and cement products.Operations:ABC supplies cement, dry mixes, fly ash and lime. Quicklime and cement are supplied to Australia's mining, agriculture and construction industries through Northern Cement, Swan Cement, CockBurn Cement, Adelaide Brighton Cement and Brighton Special Products, Sunstate Cement (50%) and Independent Cement and Lime (50%). Lime is produced at the Dongara lime and Mataranka Lime facilities in WA and NT. Concrete is produced at the Hy-Tec Concrete facilities in NSW and VIC. ABC also specialises in providing technical advice, product testing and product application training. ABC also owns 55% of C&M Brick, a masonry providing bricks, concrete blockwork, pavers, stone products, retaining wall systems and fence systems.Fossil Fuels:In June 29, 2004, ABC entered into an agreement with waste recycler, Resourceco to produce and market alternative fuels as a replacement for traditional fossil fuels. A joint venture company Alternative Fuel Company Pty Ltd will process selected combustible construction and demolition waste into fuel for ABC's cement kilns.
