Microsoft quarterly profit down 25 percent to $3.8 bn

The Russian Federal Anti-monopoly Service accuses Microsoft of reducing to six working days the time for third party software vendors to adapt their antivirus packages to the Windows 10 system, down from two months for earlier versions

Microsoft on Thursday reported a 25 percent plunge in quarterly profits as the company navigated away from its role as a software seller to a services model.

The US tech giant posted a net profit of $3.8 billion as revenues dipped six percent to $20.5 billion, in results which sent Microsoft shares down 4.6 percent in after-hours trade.
