Police say a prime-mover driving in the wrong direction collided with a car on the Parklands Exit at Nambour shortly after 10:30pm (AEST) last night.

Another car then smashed into the wreckage.

Five people, including two children, have been taken to the Nambour Hospital.

Two children, aged nine and five, and a 50-year-old man have non-life threatening injuries.

In Ipswich, west of Brisbane, a man has died after his car left the Cunningham Highway and crashed at Fraser View early this morning.

Police believe he was suffering from a medical condition.

In the north Queensland city of Mackay two men, aged 29 and 30, are in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in the city's south.
