Hollande, Merkel to meet in Paris Monday on Greek referendum

French President Francois Hollande (L) and German Chancellor Angela Merkel after a meeting on May 19, 2015 in Berlin

French President Francois Hollande will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Paris on Monday night to discuss the outcome of the Greek referendum, the French presidency said.

The two leaders will hold a working dinner to "evaluate the consequences of the referendum in Greece" on whether to accept tough bailout conditions, Paris said in a statement.

Merkel's office said the meeting would allow for a "joint analysis" of the referendum, whose final results are expected by 2100 GMT Sunday.

The radical left government of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has lobbied for a 'No' result in the referendum in a bid to strengthen its hand in negotiations with international creditors.

French Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron said negotiations should resume with Greece from Monday "no matter what the result" of the referendum.
