The founder of the failed ABC Learning Centres, Eddy Groves, has been ordered to repay more than $5 million to the Commonwealth Bank.
The bank sued Groves over an unpaid debt and the civil case was tried in the South Australian Supreme Court earlier this year.
The bank had wanted to take ownership of The Dome stadium in Adelaide as part of its claim.
Lawyers for the bank argued Groves put up The Dome as security for a line of credit in return for an extension of time to pay his debt.
Justice Malcolm Blue has ruled in favour of the bank, and ordered Groves repay the amount claimed.
An interim suppression order was placed on the reasons for the judgment.
It will be reviewed during a hearing next week, when the court will also finalise interest and cost orders.
