    $A follows US stocks slightly lower

    The Australian dollar is slightly lower after hitting a seven-week record high.

    At 0630 AEST on Thursday, the local unit was trading at 101.88 US cents, down from 101.94 cents on Wednesday.

    It hit 102.24 US cents early on Thursday morning, its highest level since May 4, after the US Federal Reserve announced it would extend its economic stimulus program.
