Datalink shares soar after hours on guidance

Datalink says 4Q results may exceed prior guidance; shares jump in after-hours trading

EDEN PRARIE, Minn. (AP) -- Datalink Corp.'s shares soared in extended Tuesday after the data center infrastructure and services company said that its fourth-quarter results should come in ahead of its earlier forecasts.

The Eden Prarie, Minn.-based company said that it anticipates revenue of $174 million for its fourth quarter, which is above its earlier guidance of $160 million to $170 million. It expects adjusted earnings of 33 to 37 cents per share, versus prior forecasts of 24 to 30 cents per share.

The guidance far surpassed market predictions for the quarter. Analysts polled by FactSet were anticipating earnings of 26 cents per share on revenue of $164.9 million for the quarter.

Datalink is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results on Feb. 20.

Its stock jumped 26 percent to $13.69 in after-hours trading.
